1996 $1 Silver Kangaroo

The release of the 1996 One Dollar Silver Kangaroo was the fourth consecutive year that the Royal Australian Mint struck uncirculated silver kangaroo coins for collectors. The first design of the Australian $1 Silver Kangaroo series was presented to the collector public and duly released by the Royal Australian Mint in 1993. An annual release was to follow, and the series quickly became hugely popular, due in part to the purity of the coins silver content but also its ever-changing design. The One Dollar Silver Uncirculated Australian Kangaroo coin remains a highly sought after issue on an annual basis, by both collector and investor.
