1992 $1 Barcelona Olympics Silver Proof

The 1992 One Dollar Barcelona Olympics Silver Proof was produced by the Royal Australian Mint to a mintage of 12,500 coins to commemorate the XXV Olympiad.  The silver proof coin features a female javelin thrower and pays tribute to the spirit of competition, fair play and togetherness that symbolises the modern Olympics. The design was also significant in that the female javelin thrower was only the second female to appear on the reverse of an Australian decimal coin, the first being the Princess of Wales.
