The 1977 Proof Set was produced by the Royal Australian Mint and comprises of six coins struck to proof quality. 1977 marked the Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne and was commemorated in Australia by a specially designed 50c coin which also forms part of this proof coin set. Encased in a specially designed hard plastic slab that was sealed by ultrasonic welding, thereby securely encasing the coins and reducing the chance of damage due to exposure to the air and general mishandling. The obverse design was by Arnold Machin, the reverse design by Stuart Devlin. Please note: The coins in this 1977 Proof Set are free from toning and or significant turning. The foam case is original but in used condition. An original certificate is supplied with the set.
