2025 20c 50th Anniversary of The Rainbow Serpent Coloured Uncirculated Coin

The Royal Australian Mint is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dick Roughsey’s The Rainbow Serpent with this coloured 20c coin. This program is released in collaboration with the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA), which is also marking its 80th anniversary in 2025. Roughsey, a Lardil man from Mornington Island in Queensland, is recognised for his invaluable contributions to art and children’s literature. The Rainbow Serpent, still in publication today, was the winner of the 1976 CBCA Picture Book Award. This is the fifth and final release in the Australian Children’s Literature program.
