2016 Proof Set

The 2016 Proof 50th Anniversary Changeover to Decimal Currency Coin Set was produced by the Royal Australian Mint and comprises of six coins struck to Proof quality. On 14 February 1966, a new form of currency was born, adorned with stunning and uniquely Australian designs. As the nation said goodbye to pounds, shillings and pence, it marked a significant change for Australia. This was one of the many examples of the role that coins have in reflecting a nation’s history. These specially designed coins embrace this history, bearing the beloved designs of both today and yesterday.
