The 1996 Proof Set was produced by the Royal Australian Mint and comprises of six coins struck to Proof quality. The theme for the 1996 Proof Set was a celebration of the life and times of the ‘Father of Federation’, Sir Henry Parkes, one of the most colourful and controversial figures in Australian politics.
